Step 15: Waivers
Collect a signature before anybody gets on the water, and store it against the booking.
What to do
Fleet > Waivers.
- Click + New Template.
- Click Add Section and choose Rich Text for your actual waiver wording. Paste in whatever you use today.
- Add a Checkbox Group for the points you want agreed to individually.
- Add a Signature section, which is the pad the customer draws on.
- Expand any section to set Required, an internal Name so you can find the answer later, and a Page number if your waiver is long enough to split.
- Drag sections into order. Duplicate copies one with its settings.
- Click Save.
Other section types are there when you need them: text fields for an emergency contact, date, number, radio questions, and Dependants for a parent signing on behalf of children.
When it is signed
Earlier is better. A signature you already have is one less thing happening while a customer waits to get on a boat.
Watch out for
- Copy to Location duplicates a template to your other locations rather than rebuilding it.
- The signed copy carries the timestamp, the signature image and the device, and opens from the booking.
Have your own wording reviewed
RentalTide stores and presents whatever waiver you provide. Whether the wording is enforceable where you operate is a matter for your own lawyer and insurer.
You are done when
Your real waiver, not placeholder text, is saved and assigned, and you have signed it yourself on a phone.
