Step 10: Add your first item
The inventory wizard, start to finish. Budget twenty minutes for the first one and a few minutes each for the rest.
Before you start
Photos of the item on the machine you are working on. PNG, JPEG or WEBP, up to 10MB each.
What to do
Fleet & Tours > Fleet, then the + button.
- Choose Add Wizard. (Advanced Mode is the same thing as one long form, and you can open any item in it later.)
- Name & Location: fill Inventory Name, Location and Category, then Continue. The name is customer facing, so name it the way somebody would search for it, not your internal code.
- Photos: drag your files in. Drag the tile you want first into first position, because the first photo is the cover.
- Capacity & Quantity: set People per unit, then Capacity, which is how many can be out at the same time.
- Asset Tracking: click Enable, enter a Prefix and a Count, then Generate to create the IDs in one go.
- Review & Save, then Save & Continue to Pricing.
Watch out for
Capacity is the field that causes overbooking
Leave it at 1 when you own six and five of your boats never get sold. Set it to six when you own one and five customers arrive to nothing.
- An item with a photo converts markedly better than one without. Do not skip the photo step meaning to come back.
- In Advanced Mode, uploads are blocked until the item has a name and a location. The drop zone says so.
- The + disables at your plan's item cap, with the limit shown on hover.
You are done when
The item appears in your fleet list with a photo, a true unit count, and its asset IDs listed.
