Nav Board
The Nav Board is the screen your dock staff keep open. It shows every rental that is currently out, with a running timer on each one, and it is where you stop, extend, pause, swap or void a rental as it happens.
If the Journey Board is the day's plan, the Nav Board is what is happening right now.
The board is named after the stage in your pipeline that means "currently out". If you have named that stage On Water, In Use or Out, that is what the board shows. Configure it under your location's pipeline settings.
Access requires the matrix_access permission. Staff without it see nothing at all, rather than an empty board, so if somebody reports a blank page start there.
Reading the board
The header carries a live clock in the location's timezone, not the browser's, so a manager looking at a Perth location from Sydney sees Perth time.
If anything is overdue, a red chip in the header gives the count.
Each row is one rental:

Choose columns from the gear icon. Your choice saves per location, so a busy marina and a quiet kayak dock can show different things, and each staff member keeps their own layout.
On tablet widths the Status column moves onto the action track automatically to reclaim space.
When nothing is out, the board reads "🚤 No Assets Out".
Grouping
Rentals booked together are grouped: a walk-up party of four jet skis is one card, not four rows.
Group Assets and Show Individual Assets toggle between the two. Grouped shows one card per party with shared tags and the amount owing; individual shows every unit as its own row.
The toggle affects all groups at once, and it resets on reload.
Filters
The Filters button opens four controls:
- Inventory, to show one item type
- Customer name
- Asset ID, for finding one specific unit
- Overdue Only, which is the one staff use most
Clear All resets them.
Filters live for the session only and clear on reload or when you change location. A filtered board looks identical to an empty one, so if somebody says "our rentals disappeared", check the filter count on the button first.
Checking in today's online bookings
Turn on the upcoming section and a green strip appears above the board reading "X Online Bookings Today".
Each row offers:
- Check In, which moves the booking onto the board and opens a POS tab for it
- Walk-Up, which converts it into the walk-up flow for changes at the counter
Check In All does the whole day's confirmed bookings at once. Useful for a morning tour departure, less so for a dock with staggered arrivals.
Unlike the filters, this section's visibility is remembered.
Acting on a rental
Every row carries these, subject to your permissions:

Clicking the row itself opens the order or booking.
Stopping several at once
Turn on multi-select and each row gains a checkbox. A bar appears at the bottom with the selected count and -1m, +1m, Stop and Cancel.
This is how a tour of twelve kayaks comes back in one action rather than twelve.
Voiding
Voiding a group asks which bookings to void, with Select All and Deselect All, because a party of four might have one no-show and three who went out. The confirm button names the count.
Stopping a rental that still owes money
If you complete a rental with a balance outstanding you get "Complete with balance due?" showing the amount, with Complete Anyway.
Staff can complete anyway, and often should: the customer may be paying at the counter. But it is the last point at which the money is attached to something on screen. Once completed, collecting it becomes a phone call.
The balance shown is recalculated every minute using the same pricing engine as the POS, so the row and the till always agree.
Waivers
On walk-up bookings a waiver chip shows how many of the party have signed. Click it for the participant list and a Resend button that texts the waiver link again.
Weather
The Weather toggle adds a strip with current conditions plus wind, visibility and precipitation alerts, refreshing every two minutes. Units follow the location's metric or imperial setting.

Polling pauses when the tab is hidden and catches up the moment you come back, so leaving the board open on a counter screen all day does not hammer anything.
Your own actions apply instantly rather than waiting for the next poll, and the board briefly ignores incoming refreshes afterwards so an in-flight response cannot make your change appear to snap back.
Timers are computed from the stored departure timestamp, not from a counter running in the page. Reloading, or leaving the board open overnight, does not drift them.
Things worth knowing
All Locations mode is read-mostly. With All Locations selected you can see every site's board, but Start Walk-Up and the POS tab links are unavailable, because both need one location's context. Row times still use each booking's own timezone, so a multi-state operator sees each rental in its local time.
List view has no action buttons. Switching to the flat list gives you a sortable read-only view. Timers still run and rows still open, but stop, void and the rest live in board view.
The board holds 1,000 rentals. Beyond that, older rentals drop off silently. No operator is near this, but if you ever run a thousand concurrent rentals at one site, know that the board is the limit rather than the business.
Group expansion resets on reload. Which groups you had open is not remembered.
