RentalTide works with ChatGPT using the same connector that powers Claude. Look up bookings, customers, inventory and availability, and — with your approval — create bookings and manage inventory, pricing, settings, your AI knowledge base and your website.
Same guarantees everywhere: the connector never takes payments or moves money, every change is confirmed before it runs, and each connection only touches your own business's data.
Before you start
- A ChatGPT plan with connector/Developer Mode support (Plus, Pro, Business, or Enterprise).
- A RentalTide account with the Integrations permission.
- Be signed in to RentalTide (app.rentaltide.com) in the same browser so the approval screen loads.
Connect it
In ChatGPT, open Settings → Connectors and enable Developer Mode (under advanced/connector settings).
Choose Add connector and enter the server URL:
For Registration method, choose Dynamic Client Registration (recommended). ChatGPT registers itself automatically — there's nothing to paste.
Continue, then sign in to RentalTide and approve the requested permissions.
ChatGPT loads the RentalTide tools and you can start asking. On the consent screen the connection shows as RentalTide Connector.
Alternative: User-Defined client
If you prefer not to use Dynamic Client Registration, choose User-Defined OAuth Client and enter:
- OAuth Client ID:
rentaltide_mcp - OAuth Client Secret: leave blank
- Token endpoint auth method:
none - Use the Callback URL ChatGPT displays (it's on
chatgpt.com, which is pre-approved).
What you can do
The tools are identical across assistants. See What the connector can do for the full list with example prompts.
Troubleshooting
- Approval screen won't load: sign in to app.rentaltide.com first, then reconnect.
invalid_redirect_uri: make sure you're using Dynamic Client Registration, or that the callback shown by ChatGPT is onchatgpt.com. Contact support@rentaltide.com if it persists.
