The V2 booking experience is a full redesign of your public booking pages: the catalog your customers browse, the product page where they pick a date and time, and the checkout where they pay. It is on by default for all businesses, and the classic template remains available as a one-click fallback.
This page covers what changed, what is new, and how to control it.
What changed
Catalog page
The old filter bar and plain grid were replaced with a branded storefront:
- Full-bleed hero with your logo, a customizable headline and subline, and your brand colors
- Date and guests search overlay directly in the hero. The catalog auto-selects today's date, so customers immediately see what is actually available
- Category pills for quick filtering
- Redesigned inventory cards with a "From $X" price badge, capacity badge, and a gradient "View Times & Book" button
- Availability filters only narrow the grid. Your branding, search bar, and hero always render even on a fully booked day
Product page
- Dark hero section with the photo gallery, title, feature chips, and an expandable description
- Three-card configurator: Select Date, Pick a Time, and Booking Summary sit side by side on desktop (stacked on mobile), so the whole booking decision fits on one screen
- Inline calendar (always visible, no popover) and a list-style time picker showing duration, remaining spots ("Only 3 left"), and price per slot
- "More to explore" grid at the bottom cross-sells the rest of your fleet
Checkout
The single long checkout page became a pill-stepper wizard: Review, Your Info, Invoice, Agree, and Payment. The Agree step only appears when you have custom questions or policies configured. Validation happens per step, and a failed submit routes the customer back to the exact step that needs attention. All payment options carry over: cards, deposits, split payments, promo codes, gift cards, and member login.
What's new
Stored branding (no more URL parameters)
Branding used to require query parameters on your booking links. It is now a saved configuration you edit in the app:
- Go to AIEO Toolkit → Booking Page Branding
- Pick the scope with the Applies to selector: your business default, or a per-location override (location wins field by field)
- Configure: primary, secondary, background, accent, and header colors, logo (with upload), hero background image (with upload), and the hero headline and subline
- Save. Changes apply to your live booking pages immediately
Old links with color query parameters still work; explicit parameters override the stored config, so existing embeds keep behaving as before.
Tour departures on the booking page
Tour products render as departure cards instead of time slots. Each card shows the departure window and live availability ("5 spots left"). Products that offer both shared and private modes show Open Party and Private Charter cards side by side until the first booking decides the mode for that departure.
Join waitlist on full departures
When a departure sells out, the card flips to "Full, join waitlist" instead of going dead (requires waitlists to be enabled for the store or item). The customer leaves their contact details, and when a seat opens up they automatically receive a booking link. Offers cascade first come, first served.
"Make it private" upsell
When a customer selects the open (shared) mode of a dual-mode tour on a departure nobody else has joined yet, the page pitches the private option with real math: "Make this departure private for $90 more." Accepting simply re-quotes the same departure as a private charter.
Weather forecast at checkout
Bookings within the forecast horizon show the expected conditions for the trip date, pulled automatically for your location's coordinates.
Skippy concierge
The V2 experience includes the Skippy chat orb on booking pages, which can answer availability and product questions for customers before they book. It can be disabled per location in Inbox settings.
After the booking: Next Steps additions
The confirmation (Next Steps) page gained several self-service features that pair with the V2 flow:
- Add to your trip: a mini-store of your add-ons that guests can still purchase before departure (respects each add-on's cutoff windows; guests always pay catalog prices). The balance is settled right on the page
- Group status for tour parties: the lead booker sees who has signed their waiver and gets a shareable invite link while seats remain on their departure
- Existing features (tips, balance payments, reschedule, waivers, document upload) all carry over
See Next steps for the full page reference.
Turning V2 on or off
V2 is on by default. To switch a business or location back to the classic template:
- Go to AIEO Toolkit → Booking Page Branding
- Choose the scope (business default or a specific location)
- Toggle V2 booking experience off and save
The classic template is the complete pre-redesign booking flow, kept fully functional. No widget or embed code changes are needed in either direction, and you can switch back at any time.
Previewing before you decide
Append a query parameter to any booking page URL to preview either experience without changing your saved setting:
?v2=falseshows the classic template?v2=trueshows the V2 experience
This only affects the browser session using the link, so you can share a preview internally while your customers keep seeing your saved choice.
FAQ
Does V2 change my prices, availability, or policies? No. V2 is a presentation layer. Pricing, availability, taxes, fees, deposits, and policies are identical in both templates.
Do I need to update my website embed? No. The booking widget embed code is unchanged. The V2 toggle applies to your hosted booking pages.
Can one location use V2 while another uses classic? Yes. The per-location setting overrides the business default.
We fixed something on the booking page. Does it apply to both templates? Yes. Both templates are maintained together; booking flow fixes ship to both.
