Getting started with Lite

From signup to taking bookings in five steps, with no test mode

Getting started with Lite

Setting up Lite takes five steps. Your account is real from the first one: there is no test mode to graduate from.

1. About your business

Your business name, what you do, your address and a phone number, plus your website if you already have one. Your country comes from the address. Press Continue.

2. Your listings

We draft your listings from what you told us, with names, descriptions and prices, and they arrive ticked and ready. Change anything you like, untick anything you do not offer, then press Looks good to add them all. Your website is written in the background while you do this.

You can add, edit and remove listings later from Listings. Lite allows up to 10.

3. Get paid

Press Connect Stripe. Stripe asks for your business details, your bank account and an ID check, which takes about five minutes. Customers can pay online as soon as Stripe approves you, usually within minutes. See Getting paid.

Not ready? Choose Later. Home keeps it on your checklist.

4. Open for business

Press Open my website. The first time, it asks for a card on file: your RentalTide fees come out of your payouts, and the card is only charged if they cannot. See Your website and Billing.

Once it is open, copy your website link, your booking link and a QR code for the van, the shop window or a flyer. You can also choose Do this later.

5. Go to Home

Home shows a checklist of what is left: listings, payouts, opening your website and your first paid booking. Nothing is ticked until it is really done.

When customers can book

Your booking page and listings stay off the internet until all three are true:

  1. Your website is open.
  2. Stripe is connected.
  3. Your business is not paused.

Until then, anyone who finds your booking link sees that your business is not taking online bookings yet. Your listings are also kept out of the RentalTide marketplace, Google and AI search feeds, OTAs and the AI phone. Nobody can find a booking page that cannot take their money.

The Lite app

Lite has five screens: Home, Bookings, Listings, Website and Settings. Settings has its own short list: Business details, Payouts, Waiver, Your profile, Alerts to you, Messages to customers, Booking rules, Opening hours, Taxes, Logo and colour, Team, Plan and Pause.

  • Booking rules: how much notice you need before a booking, and whether customers can cancel online and until when.
  • Opening hours: when your business opens and closes. Which days a listing can be booked is set on the listing itself.
  • Alerts to you: an email or a text when someone books. Everyone on your team sets their own.
  • Logo and colour: how your booking page and emails look.
