Getting paid on Lite

Connecting Stripe, when customers can pay, payouts to your bank, and how RentalTide fees are taken

Getting paid on Lite

Lite takes card payments through Stripe, which pays your bookings into your bank account.

Connect Stripe

Go to Settings > Payouts (or the Get paid step during setup) and press Connect Stripe. Stripe asks for:

  • your business details,
  • your bank account,
  • an ID check.

It takes about five minutes. If you stop partway, the button reads Continue Stripe setup and picks up where you left off.

When customers can pay

As soon as Stripe approves your account, usually within minutes. While Stripe is checking your details there is nothing else to do.

Customers can only book online once your website is open, Stripe is connected and your business is not paused. See Getting started.

Payouts

Stripe pays your bookings into your bank account on a regular schedule. New accounts start on a longer payout schedule, which shortens once the account is established.

How RentalTide fees are taken

  • Card bookings: the 1% platform fee comes out of the payment before it reaches you.
  • Cash and other bookings: the 1% is added to your account balance and taken from later card payouts.
  • The $19 monthly fee is added to your account balance and taken from payouts the same way.

You never have to pay an invoice by hand while card bookings are coming in. See Billing for the backup card.
